Ellerbrock and Marangoni Retreading Systems offers innovative products and perfected technologies for tire retreading. Within the Maragoni group, Marangoni Retreading Systems (MRS) is responsible for materials and technology for the retreading business.

The Italian companies Marangoni Tread and Eurorubber manage this line of business in Europe. With its extensive and integrated offerings, MRS has taken on a leading position among the independent producers of materials for retreading with pre-cured treads. Today more than one-quarter of precure retreaded truck tires in Europe and neighboring countries receive rubber materials from MRS.

In this market where all signs point to a concentration of retreading companies, Ellerbrock and Mangoni Tread are investing in resources and know-how. State-of-the-art ringtread technology is also being used in Germany. At the Hamburg production facilities this technology supplements the existing production of PROFIL-LINER treads.

Favorable Location

Thanks to its strategically favorable location in northern Europe, Ellerbrock can market its products in Germany and other German-speaking countries as well as in Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and Russia. Marco Mandrioli, Ellerbrock managing director and MRS sales manager for the E.ME.A region (Europe, Middle East, Africa), says: "Our production facilities in Hamburg are considered to be the most modern in the world for tread profiles and ring-shaped treads for precure retreading. In 2007 the Hamburg factory will be the site of an important new development, when production of our RINGTREAD rings will be completely automated. With that step. Hamburg will adopt the MARANGONI alpha-ring technology, which is already being used in Italian and American factories."

Broad Spectrum

In response to customer needs, MRS offers both products and machines that fulfilll the requirements of small, medium and large retreading operations. Customers are provided with products from the RINGTREAD, KONTUR and PROFIL-LINER product families. 
With Ringtread, the exclusive precured ring system, Marangoni made the conventional retreading concept a thing of the past and introduced a new class of retreads. These tires are equal to new tires in every way and, according to Marangoni, are "not infrequently even superior". The KONTUR and PROFIL-LINER treads are intended for the market segment that still prefers traditional tread-based technologies. In that case there are several retreading options. The company's greatly diversified product offering, says Marangoni, may be the most complete in the area of precure retreading. 

The PROFIL-LINER offering has recently been extended by the innovative Profil MS6 (photo, right), which was developed by the Ellerbrock/Marangoni project team and produced in the Hamburg factory. The newly designed tread for winter use and the new high-performance mixture make the product ideal for tough winter conditions in Northern Europe. It guarantees the user outstanding traction and mileage. The treads can also be equipped with spikes as needed.
